Patricia Ferrell-French: Office & Staff

My office is located in the historic Willamette business district of West Linn. The neighborhood is picturesque and friendly; parking is ample and free. Just a minute off I-205 at the 10th St exit.

It is equally convenient to the east, west and south sides of Portland--making it possible for me to serve clients throughout the tri-county area. And of course, with telephone, fax, mail, and e-mail, most clients don’t need to visit my office too often after the initial consultation, even in complex cases.

For the past ten years, Jon French, my husband for 21 years, has worked with me as my legal assistant and office/business manager. Jon’s education (BA in Economics from UCLA, MS in Wildlife Biology from Humboldt State College), his varied work experience prior to working with me (Social Worker, United Nations Volunteer, writer, auditor, law office manager), his agreeable nature, his diligence, and his attention to detail, makes him an important part of my practice. When you first call my office, Jon can help determine whether your situation is one I can assist you with, and he can schedule an appointment for you. Throughout my representation of you, you can expect to have frequent contact with Jon as well as with me. Because his hourly billing rate is considerably less than mine, I keep your fees down by having him help with the non-attorney work that your case may require. Our close relationship means that your communications with my office don’t slip through the cracks.

As an experienced lawyer and member of professional legal organizations, I have access to a variety of professionals such as CPAs, financial planners, appraisers, pension evaluators, custody evaluators, parenting time supervisors, and psychological counselors. When necessary, I will consult with another attorney on a case. The Clackamas County Law Library, with its excellent research facilities, is only five minutes away; and of course I have access to a great many on-line legal resources.

Additional staff: We have two small, friendly, mixed-breed terriers, Chester and Millie, who come to the office with us in the morning and leave with us at night. I don’t encourage clients to bring their children to the office, but sometimes it’s necessary— much to Chester and Millie’s delight. They have comforted many a stressed client, warmed more than one hostile opposing party, and protect us from marauding neighborhood cats and squirrels. Although I don’t let them intrude (you probably won’t see them unless you ask), they are our great friends and earn their keep.
