Patricia Ferrell-French Attorney at Law
I have a wide range of employment experiences, both in and outside the legal profession, plus a solid educational background. I did not start law school until I was forty. I dropped out of college in my early 20s when I married, and spent the next sixteen years being a wife, mother, community volunteer, and small business owner. After I got divorced, I returned to school and obtained my undergraduate and law degrees. I consider the total of my life experiences to be indispensable to being a good lawyer.
I have been licensed to practice law in Oregon since 1991. Before that, I was a staff attorney for the Oregon Worker’s Compensation Board for two years and a judicial law clerk for the judges in Lincoln County, Oregon, for one year. During that one-year period, I acted as the unofficial probate administrator for Lincoln County. Prior to attending law school, I worked as a clerk for the late Oklahoma state court Judge Alan J. Couch in Norman, Oklahoma. While in law school, I worked in the Washington County District Attorney’s office as a certified law clerk, in the Washington County offices of the Metropolitan Public Defenders as a certified law clerk, and for Lee & Associate, a Portland law firm that served the city’s Korean-American community. After becoming a member of the Oregon State Bar Association in 1991, I worked for Lee & Associate, then opened my own office in 1993.
Beginning in 2012 and continuing until I relocated my law practice, I was a court appointed arbitrator for Clackamas County Circuit Court’s mandated arbitration cases. Beginning in 2014, I also served as a Board Member of the Clackamas County Circuit Court’s Arbitration Commission.
